Cons: difficult grader
Quizzes on Reading, Homework is reading, read 3 books, with a paper on each 6-8 pages in length. Final project is a research project on a subject as it pertains to one of the books. there is also a presentation at the very end.
For example, let's say you get a B- on your paper, the lowest percentage you can get with a B- is an 80. However, a B- is a 2.7 on a 4-point scale. This means that 2.7/4 is 67.5.
She told us there was only one A in her class last year and it was an A-.

Cons: Lots of reading
As long as you keep up with the reading and go to class you should be fine. There are quizzes after you finish each book and two papers due at the end of the class.
Cons: Class is boring
Cons: Doesn't have good outlines for assigment criteria. Isn't organized at all. Grades on papers are not well explained unless you ask after class/in office hours
-No Busy Work
-Final is a group project
Cons: -Papers make up a majority of grade
Pretty cool teacher overall, if you do well on the papers you will do fine in the class
Cons: actually have to read
Cons: Some of the assignments are really open ended. There is a lot of reading, but sparknotes worked fine. The papers can be long. The research paper is the hardest. Some of the books are boring.
Cons: very high strung, favors boys, makes journals 2 hours long to complete
Overall, the class is easy as long as you have the time to put into it. One journal takes between adn hour and 2 hours to complete. She grades based on effort so as long as you try you can for sure get an A.
Cons: Sometimes paper instructions are vague. Books read for class were not great.
She's probably one of the better English professors. You'll get something out of her class.
- Friendly
She is a really cool person, but if you disrespect her she'll put you in your place. Overall she teaches English in a unique way. Overall her class is easy, but you do have to put a bit of effort in the papers that she assigns in order to get an A.
Helps push students to become a better writer
Grades hard on paper but easy on everything else, when it all comes down to it written grades don't matter but more or less how much you put into her class
Allowed one to express oneself through writing through a wide variety of sefl-chosen means
Cons: Carries here things in a shopping bag! lol
The Final Exam was not a final at all, we just did group presentations
Cons: A lot of books to read for this class
The class is fairly easy. There are a lot of discussions, mostly about the readings, and a quiz for each book. Most discussions have no right or wrong answer and are just to make you think so they end up being pretty easy.
Cons: i didn't understand what she was talking about half the time. didn't get much out of the class. her instructions for her essays are really vague, but you write what you want to and she'll give you a grade i guess.
The only problem I have with this class was with one of the required books. Other then that, I loved this class.
Grading scale is simple and allows for success
Encourages sharing of writing
Cons: Can be straightforward almost to the point of pushy
Sends out homework in emails
Prompts can be lengthy and requested for revision
Scattered personality, but good teacher.
Cons: 2 papers
This class is thought provoking and fun, especially if you like to read and want to become more aware of environmental issues.
